Adobe Grand Villas – Sedona, Arizona
35 Hozoni Drive, Sedona, AZ 86336

First let me say I am fairly picky as a reviewer and as a customer, although I prefer to think of it as discerning. :)  I expect 5-star service when paying ‘certain’ prices, and if there are issues I expect them to be dealt with immediately and with a cheery attitude.

The Adobe Grand Villas in Sedona, Arizona is one place that seems well worth the average price paid, with one important caveat: this depends upon what your expectations are. For instance, if you like huge mega-resorts or are looking for glamour or glitz, this is not the place for you. On the other hand, if you appreciate a tucked-away retreat with impeccable attention to detail, privacy and the feeling of an upscale residential villa, this may be just the ticket.

Grand Adobe Villas in a bed and breakfast by definition, as they serve a delightful homemade breakfast to guests each morning, but this is where we find the similarity to end between this and other bed and breakfast establishments. Most bed and breakfast accommodations are geared towards the traveler who would like to save money; they are often in an older home and, having been decorated lovingly by the owners, are usually eclectic and very ‘personal’ in feel. Grand Adobe Villas, on the other hand, while delivering exceptionally friendly and personal service, offers the elegance and discretion of a small, intimate, first class boutique resort hotel. It’s tucked away out of sight of the main roads in Sedona, and if you didn’t have directions you’d never find it. There are not likely any drop-in guests, and this is definitely a sanctuary for those who’d like some privacy and quiet.

The rooms (villas) are beautiful, spacious and extremely private; the service is both discreet and very thorough; the food is so incredibly fresh that you think they’d just made it – which they did. You will find fresh bread baking in your room upon arrival (as well as a decent array of other complimentary snacks), and depending what time of day it is, you’ll find fresh snacks and hors d’oeuvres laid out in the main, elegant lobby area.

While most of the villas are fairly ‘rustic’ looking, all are extremely decadent at 850 sq. feet, with beautiful king beds, fireplaces in both the living room as well as the very spacious bathroom, huge soaking tubs with jacuzzi jets and private patios and/or balcony areas. Many rooms enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains, while others have that ‘tucked-away’ feel, with intimate private garden settings including outside seating and privacy shrubbery. Each villa is uniquely decorated.

Common areas include a well-landscaped pool and spa area (really pretty at night with subtle lighting and a blanket of stars overhead), and the main lobby area, where you have your meals and possibly gather for rest or relaxation in front of the enormous and welcoming fireplace. The entire property is landscaped and decorated with a classy, subtle upscale touch, and from the fresh baked bread to the delicious and thoughtful breakfasts, the guest experience is one of indulgence and relaxation.

Sedona itself is stunning, by the way, and worth the drive!

NOTE: If cost is a factor, you may wish to search for the best deals on this property. They have a website where they offer specials, however we found an even lower price on expedia.
